In Celebration of the Conservation of Whittier Hill

Although it is still winter, I wanted to post these photos from early fall. I took these on a walk with my husband up Whittier Hill in Amesbury, MA. Today I am posting them in celebration of the conservation of Whittier Hill by the Essex County Greenbelt Association!

Whittier Hill was Amesbury's last unprotected ridgeline which overlooks Woodsom Farm.

The land that has been conserved will now connect Amesbury Town Park to Cashman School and the soccer fields at Woodsom Farm.

This will be a lovely area for Amesbury residents to enjoy for generations!

Snowy Hike up Mt Tom

Mike and I are hiking all of the 4,000 foot mountains in New Hampshire. This has lead us on many adventures during the past year. Our last big hike of the season was up Mt Tom and Mt Field.

Although we didn't see any views from the peaks due to the snowy day, we enjoyed beautiful scenery the whole time.

In Memory of our nephew Caellan

Our five year old nephew passed away this year on New Year's Day. Luckily, due to my habit of bringing my camera to lots of family get-togethers, we have many photographs to remember his beautiful spirit.

This is Christmas day with my husband in his Christmas sweater. You never would have known that one week later Caellan would no longer be with us. We are thankful we had such a nice Christmas to share with him. He was so excited to go on this walk to Ashuelot Park.

Caellan loved cars. One of the first questions he would ask anyone was what kind of car they have. He wanted to be a garbage man when he grew up so he could drive around on the big truck all day. Here he's pretending to drive our Mazda SUV.

On Thanksgiving we took Caellan and his brother for a walk at Goose Pond in Keene, NH.

On a summer day in 2014 the whole family went to play outside.

This little guy was so full of life. He will be sorely missed.

We love you Caellan!

Shenandoah National Park

The main stop on our honeymoon was Shenandoah National Park. We spent four days hiking, camping, driving the 100 mile Skyline Drive and visiting waterfalls and mountaintops.

Family Portraits

Last weekend I had the fortune to visit my family up in New Hampshire. I was lucky they were willing to let me take their photographs too!

On the Road: Cheshire Rail Trail

On the way up to NH, we also stopped at an old stone bridge that is now part of the Cheshire Rail Trail. This particular location is off of Route 12 in Marlborough, NH.

I tried some of these in black and white but realized that the photos are more about this particular location an dhow it looks in the fall. Particularly this one of Mike was much better in color.
