Snowy Hike up Mt Tom

Mike and I are hiking all of the 4,000 foot mountains in New Hampshire. This has lead us on many adventures during the past year. Our last big hike of the season was up Mt Tom and Mt Field.

Although we didn't see any views from the peaks due to the snowy day, we enjoyed beautiful scenery the whole time.

Just One Moment in Time

Although it is just one moment in time, this photo captures the essence of a couple's night out with old friends.

Engagement Photos: My Brother and his Fiancee

I took my first stab at formal portraits when my brother and his fiance asked me to take some photos following their engagement.

On the Road: White Mountains

My dad and I took a road trip through the White Mountains this past week. We stopped for a cigarette break at the base of Mount Washington. Four of the northern Presidential peaks are visible in this picture - Monroe, Washington, Adams and Madison.

Cannon Mountain is one of the most accessible peaks in the White Mountains due to the tramway. We took the tram to the top where winds were over 40 mph and it was deceivingly chilly.

Lake Chocorua is one of the most classic photos that you can find of the White Mountains. Mt Chocorua has a very distinctive peak and the reflection in the lake attracts photographers across the seasons.

Sand Dunes: Spring In Cape Cod

I took these photos on Mother's Day in Cape Cod. The sand dunes were uncharacteristically devoid of people and the ecosystem looked strangely alien.

Maudslay State Park in January

Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, MA is generally known for its beauty during the warm summer months. It is home to hundreds of rhododendron bushes, overlooks the Merrimac River and was once the home of the Maudslay family's manicured gardens.

On a day in January I took a walk off the beaten path and came across some interesting artifacts. I enjoyed editing these photos with a darker atmosphere than one would normally associate with Maudslay State Park.

Mount Agamenticus: A February Hike

On an unseasonably warm day in February, I hiked up Mount Agamenticus in southern Maine. It's a great way to stop off if you are going up 95 and could use a break to walk around a bit and see a great view of the White Mountains and the Maine coast at the same time.

I found these deer tracks on the hike up the less travelled backside of the mountain.

Agamenticus was once a ski mountain so several of the trails follow the old rope tows up the slopes.

At the top, the sun shined through the trees as they towered over me,

This is the view looking over into New Hampshire from this peak in southern Maine.

The rope tow leads down the northern slope as you look out deeper into Maine.

On the Road: Portraits of my Dad

My dad and I recently took a road trip through Massachusetts and Rhode Island. These are some of the photos I took of him along the way.

Roger Williams Park Zoo

On a road trip this weekend with my dad we stopped a the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI. Although photography was not my ultimate aim for our visit, I snapped some casual pictures of the animals. It's a great zoo and is half price in January and February. It's a great time to go since there are no crowds.

In Memory of our nephew Caellan

Our five year old nephew passed away this year on New Year's Day. Luckily, due to my habit of bringing my camera to lots of family get-togethers, we have many photographs to remember his beautiful spirit.

This is Christmas day with my husband in his Christmas sweater. You never would have known that one week later Caellan would no longer be with us. We are thankful we had such a nice Christmas to share with him. He was so excited to go on this walk to Ashuelot Park.

Caellan loved cars. One of the first questions he would ask anyone was what kind of car they have. He wanted to be a garbage man when he grew up so he could drive around on the big truck all day. Here he's pretending to drive our Mazda SUV.

On Thanksgiving we took Caellan and his brother for a walk at Goose Pond in Keene, NH.

On a summer day in 2014 the whole family went to play outside.

Caellan and Uncle Mike

This little guy was so full of life. He will be sorely missed.

We love you Caellan!
